The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health, who was usually depicted as a falcon. The eye symbol represents the marking around the eye of the falcon, including the "teardrop" below the eye. His right eye was associated with the sun Ra. The left eye, sometimes represented the moon and the god Djehuti (Thot).In one myth, when Set and Horus were fighting for the throne after Osiris's death, Set gouged out Horus' left eye. The eye was restored by either Hathor Thoth. When Horus' eye recovered, he offered it to his father, Osiris, in hopes of restoring his life.

The ankh known as key of life, the key of the Nile was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life" Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest. This combination of male and female symbols (the cross and circle) in the the ankh suggest fertility and creative power.
